Raynoch Thompson dominated the defensive side of the ball during his time at Tennessee and earned All-America honors his senior year, a year following his leadership on the Vols' 1998 national championship team. Thompson led the Vols with 87 tackles in 1999 while also totaling seven tackles for loss and three interceptions. Thompson was one of four finalists for the Butkus Award and played in the Senior Bowl. The stout tackler started in every game he played on The Hill, totaling 36 in his career.

- Recovered two Florida fumbles as the Vols ended a five-game losing streak against the Gators

1997 - SOPHOMORE

- Intercepted a pass and returned it for five yards against Kentucky
- Had a season-high eight tackles in the opener against Texas Tech, leading the squad as he made his Tennessee debut
- In the FedEx Orange Bowl against Nebraska, he exceeded his Texas Tech numbers, bringing 11 Cornhuskers to the turf, including one for a TFL
