Stodder falls at ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. -- Tennessee's Timo Stodder suffered back-to-back singles losses in the main draw to wrap up UT's stint at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships.
The fourth-seeded individual and sixth-ranked player in the country, Stodder (Berlin, Germany) was upset by No. 46 Simon Baudry of Clemson in the opening round of the main draw on Thursday. The senior captain suffered a three-set loss to Baudry by a score of 7-5, 2-6, 6-4.
After receiving a bye in the consolation bracket, Stodder took on No. 54 Christian Sigsgaard (Texas) Saturday afternoon. Sigsgaard picked up the win, defeating Stodder in three sets - 2-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Up next, Tennessee will host the 2018 ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships at the Goodfriend Tennis Center in Knoxville. The tournament is scheduled for Oct. 11-15.
