Stodder Claims ITA Ohio Valley Regional Crown

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee co-captain Timo Stodder captured the 2018 ITA Ohio Valley Regional singles title Monday afternoon at Goodfriend Tennis Center. The senior from Berlin, Germany topped MTSU's Gonzalo Morell 6-1, 6-3 in the final to cap off a 7-0 stretch through the 128-player bracket.

Stodder is the second Vol to claim the Ohio Valley Regional singles crown, joining Hunter Reese who won the tournament in 2013.

Stodder also competed in the regional doubles final Monday morning alongside Preston Touliatos. The second-seeded senior duo fell to ninth-seed Inno/Ilic (Belmont) 6-4, 6-4.

The Vols have two tournaments remaining on the fall schedule, the Birmingham Futures (Oct. 27 - Nov. 7) and the Knoxville Challenger (Nov. 3 - Nov. 11). For the most up-to-date information on Tennessee men's tennis, follow @Vol_Tennis on Twitter.
