Men’s Tennis Central: ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – For the fifth time in seven seasons, the Tennessee men's tennis team will serve host to the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, beginning Thursday, Sept. 23.
The 128-player singles and 64-team doubles tournament runs Thursday through Monday (Sept. 27), with the first round of singles action starting at 9 a.m. Thursday. Admission is free for the entirety of the event.
Main draw matches will be played at UT's Barksdale Stadium for each of the tournament's five days, with consolation rounds being played indoors at the adjacent Goodfriend Tennis Center. Tyson Park will also host matches Thursday-Saturday.
22 teams will be represented in Knoxville during the Regionals: Austin Peay, Ball State, Bellarmine, Belmont, Butler, Dayton, ETSU, IUPUI, Indiana, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Louisville, Memphis, MTSU, Northern Kentucky, Purdue, Tennessee Tech, UT-Chattanooga, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Wright State and Xavier.
For the Vols, junior Angel Diaz, freshman Conor Gannon, freshman Shunsuke Mitsui and senior Martim Prata will compete in the Regional.

Mitsui – 10 AM
Gannon – 11:30 AM
Prata – 1:30 PM
DOUBLES
Diaz/Mitsui – 3 PM
Gannon/Prata – 4 PM
The singles and doubles champions will advance to the ITA National Fall Championships from Nov. 4-7 in San Diego, California.
For matches held at UT (not those held at Tyson Park), live stats will be provided through Sidearm Stats, with live video feeds of those matches available through a free account with Playsight. Spectator parking will be located in lot SC-40, off Cumberland Avenue and Metron Center Way (see map below).
