KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee swimming and diving program opens the 2017-18 season Friday with the annual Orange and White Intrasquad Meet at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
The meet begins at 3:30 p.m. Admission is free. Please note the clear bag policy for all meets this season.
This is the sixth year of the men's and women's combined scoring Orange and White Meet. The Orange team leads the series 3-2, but the White team won last year's competition 413-366. Current sophomores Taylor Abbott and Meghan Small won three events each in their home debuts to lead the White team.
The Vols' intrasquad meet is different than most scrimmages because swimmers and divers are selected to either the orange or white team as freshmen and remain on that team for the rest of their career. The teams have participate in games and challenges during the week that count towards the final meet totals.
