Bio

Representing Jamaica, Carey McLeod was one of just two athletes in the world to qualify for both the long jump and the triple jump in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The three-time SEC champion and six-time NCAA All-American was the first male athlete from Tennessee track & field to qualify for Jamaica at the summer games. The 2020 Indoor SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Year owns the school record in both categories with marks of 8.26 meters in the long jump and 17.17 meters in the triple jump.

Outdoor- Earned a pair of USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors - long jump and 4x100mR
- Placed fourth in the men's 4x100-meter relay with Wayne Pinnock, Favour Ashe and Emmanuel Bynum at NCAAs in 38.83 seconds (6/11)
- Finished fourth in the men's long jump at the NCAA Championships, leaping 7.90m (25-11) (6/9)
- Ran on the men's 4x100mR with Wayne Pinnock, Favour Ashe and Emmanuel Bynum at the East Prelims and qualified for Eugene with a time of 38.78 seconds - the third-fastest 4x100 in program history (5/27)
- Secured a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the men's long jump after leaping 7.63m (25-0.5) (5/25)

Outdoor- Earned a pair of podium finishes at the JAAA National Senior Championships, taking second in the long jump (8.14m) and third in the triple jump (15.98m) to secure Olympic qualification in both events
- Equaled Tennessee's best finish in the men's long jump in program history at the NCAA Championships (6/9), placing third with a mark of 7.94m (26-0.75)
- Scored two points for UT in the triple jump at the NCAA Championships (6/11) with his outdoor PR of 16.40m (53-9.75)
- Was the only athlete to qualify for the NCAA national championships in both horizontal jumps out of the East Region, placing second in the long jump (8.08m) and fourth in the triple jump (16.24m) at the East Prelims (5/28)
- Claimed his third career SEC title with a sixth-round leap of 8.34 meters (27-4.5) in the long jump at the SEC Championships (5/14)
- Leaped 8.21 meters (26-11.25) at the Clark Wood Open (4/23) to break the outdoor long jump school record
- Finished second in the triple jump at the Tennessee Relays (4/9), leaping a mark of 16.08 meters (52-9.25)
- Named USTFCCCA South Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive indoor season
- Recorded the second-best performance of his career in the triple jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships (3/13), going 16.93 meters (55-6.5) for a third-place finish and the best result for UT in the event since 1986
- Logged a PR of 8.26 meters (27-1.25) in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships (3/12) to place third for UT's best result in the event since 1995
- Took home SEC gold in the triple jump with a personal-best and school record mark of 17.17m (56-4), placing himself among the top-10 triple-jumping collegians in NCAA indoor history (2/27)
- Jumped a personal-best 8.25 meters (27-0.75) at the SEC Championships, which resulted in SEC silver, the No. 3 mark in the world for the 2020-21 indoor campaign and the first time a Tennessee athlete jumped further than 27 feet (2/26)
- Recorded a triple jump performance of 16.18 meters (53-1) at Virginia Tech's Doc Hale Elite Meet (2/6)
- Made his triple jump season debut at Clemson University's Bob Pollock Meet (1/30), finishing as the top collegiate athlete at the meet with a 15.79-meter (51-9.75) performance
- Posted a top-5 mark in the NCAA with his leap of 7.90 meters (25-11) at the Clemson Bob Pollock Meet (1/29)
- Placed 3rd in the 60-meter dash at the Hokie invitational (1/22) with a new personal best of 6.78 seconds
2020 TRACK & FIELD
Outdoor
- Did not compete, as the 2020 outdoor track & field season was canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) global health crisis
- Named SEC Field Athlete of the Year and USTFCCCA South Region Field Athlete of the Year
- Qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in both the long jump and triple jump, one of four athletes to qualify in both horizontal jumping events
- Jumped a personal-best 8.19 meters (26-10.5) to claim the first SEC men's long jump title for Tennessee since 1995 (2/28)
- Took home SEC silver in the men's triple jump with a mark of 16.49m (54-1.25), becoming UT's first medalist in the event since 2007 (2/29)
- Broke Tennessee's all-time record in the long jump with a leap of 8.16m (26-9.25) at the Tiger Paw Invite (2/14), which ranked as the No. 1 mark in the world at the time of the performance
- Went 16.68m (54-8.75) in the triple jump at the Tiger Paw Invite (2/15), good for the No. 3 performance in Tennessee history indoors
- Logged a jump of 7.60m (24-11.25) in the A section of the men's long jump for the furthest mark by a Vol this season at the Texas Tech Invite (2/1)
- Top collegiate finisher in the men's triple jump at the Virginia Tech Invite (1/17), logging an indoor PR of 15.89m (52-1.75) that ranks sixth in UT history
- Scored seven points for the Vols at the Tennessee-Indiana Duals (1/11), logging runner-up finishes in the 60m (6.86) and triple jump (14.17m) while adding a third place result in the long jump (7.03m)
2019 TRACK & FIELD (at Emporia State)
Indoor- Finished 5th in the long jump (7.58m / 24-10.5) at the NCAA Division II national championships
- MIAA Indoor runner-up in the men's 60m dash with a time of 6.83
- Recorded season-bests in the 60m (6.82) and long jump (7.65m / 25-1.25) at the Central Missouri Invite, both placing first overall
- Jumped a wind-aided PR of 7.70m (25-3.25) for second place at the Kansas Relays
