Men’s Tennis Central: ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships
October 09, 2025 | Men's Tennis
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Four representatives from the Tennessee's men tennis team will head to the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley Regional Championships at Purdue from Oct. 9-14.
Jose Garcia, Jan Kobierski, Alejandro Moreno and Boruch Skierkier will compete in singles and doubles against teams from around the Ohio Valley area.
The two singles finalists from the tournament from all regions across the country will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, and the champion from the doubles side for each region will qualify for that event as well.
The qualifying stages of singles will take place Thursday, while the main draw of doubles will be held on Friday.
The full draws, schedule and bracket can be found on the tournament webpage, linked above.
EXPERIENCED VET
This marks Alejandro Moreno's second time at the annual tournament for the Vols. Moreno had success last year reaching the semifinals of the tournament in singles, and he also reached the finals in doubles with VFL Alex Kotzen. Moreno looks to build on that experience this season.
STRONG SINGLES
This quartet of Vols last weekend at the Buck Bouldin went 10-2 in singles, including 8-0 against Vanderbilt and Indiana. Moreno and Skierkier both posted 3-0 records, with Moreno still yet to drop a set all year and Skierkier yet to drop a match.
UP NEXT
Tennessee will take almost a month off before heading to Orlando, Florida, for the M15 Orlando, which takes place Nov. 3-9.
