Vols Fight, Fall to #4 Florida 5-2

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought, 5-2 decision to Florida at the Goodfriend Tennis Center Sunday.
Tennessee (14-4, 2-2 SEC) won singles matches on courts four and six, as senior Pat Harper finished first and earned his third consecutive singles win with a 7-5, 6-4 rout of #119 Nate Bonetto at the No. 6 spot. Freshman Shunsuke Mitsui battled past 93rd-ranked Andy Andrade at the No. 4 slot in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Florida (11-2, 4-0 SEC) took a 1-0 lead after Sam Riffice and Ben Shelton clinched the doubles point on court one, 6-4.
The Gators took singles wins on courts, one, two, three and five, with three of those matches going to a third set. The match was played out following Florida's clinch on court three.
SHUN ON A ROLL
Mitsui secured a fifth consecutive singles win Sunday, improving his overall singles record this season to 24-6. He's 14-2 in dual singles matches, including a 4-0 mark in SEC play.
UP NEXT
The Vols return to action next Sunday, as they close a three-match homestand by playing host to the eighth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at Barksdale Stadium.
