KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — 30 Tennessee track & field athletes are headed to Auburn, Alabama, this weekend to open the program's outdoor schedule at the Tiger Track Classic. The two-day meet is set to run Friday and Saturday, March 19-20 at the Hutsell-Rosen Track.

14 Division I programs are slated to compete at the Tiger Track Classic: Auburn, Alabama, Alabama State, Clemson, Florida State, Louisville, MTSU, Ole Miss, South Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Troy, UAB (women) and Vanderbilt (women). Live results for the meet will be provided by Delta Timing Group, Inc.

MEET SCHEDULE: The Big Orange will open the meet Friday at 3 p.m. ET with Chandler Hayden and Kayla Racine competing in the women's hammer throw for the first time in their UT careers. Friday's action will conclude at approximately 8:05 p.m. as Thomas Gardiner and Riley Buchholz make their UT outdoor track debuts in the fast section of the men's 1,500-meter run.

The Vols and Lady Vols have entries in 19 events on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay, men's discus throw and women's shot put. The meet will wrap up at 4:35 p.m. with the men's 4x400-meter relay.

SUPER SENIORS: Six Lady Vol seniors will make their long-awaited 2021 debuts this weekend, each embarking on their final seasons of outdoor eligibility. Saqukine Cameron, Alexis Duncan, Maia McCoy and Domonique Turner have all returned to Rocky Top after the cancellation of the 2020 outdoor season, while Ayesha Champagnie and Nayoka Clunis joined the program as graduate transfers from the University of Minnesota.

OUTDOOR DEBUTS: Of UT's 30 athletes traveling to Auburn, 25 (11 men, 14 women) are set to make their first appearances on the outdoor track for Tennessee: Riley Buchholz, Chance Crawford, Peyton Davis, Thomas Gardiner, Rasheeme Griffith, Matthew McMillan, Eli Nahom, Ethan Robinson, Preston Ruth, Yariel Soto, Max Zani, Jada Chambers, Ayesha Champagnie, Nayoka Clunis, Ainsley Cooper, Chandler Hayden, Olivia Janke, Emily Knight, Caroline Lewis, Sarah McCabe, Kayla Racine, Allison Rand, Erin Spreen, Vanessa Watson and Britton Wilson.

UP NEXT: The Big Orange will split up next week, sending groups to Tallahassee, Florida, for the FSU Relays (March 25-26) and to Raleigh, North Carolina, for NC State's Raleigh Relays (March 25-27).
