Track Central: Tiger Paw Invite, Music City Challenge

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee track & field program will wrap up the 2021 regular indoor season this weekend, splitting up for a pair of meets at Clemson and Vanderbilt. The Tiger Paw Invite (Clemson, S.C.) and Music City Challenge (Nashville) will both run Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13.

The Big Orange will send 11 athletes and a men's 4x400-meter relay squad to the Tiger Paw Invite. Tennessee's competition at Clemson will begin at noon Friday with the men's shot put and wrap up with the Vols' relay group running Saturday at 3:25 p.m.

28 Vols and Lady Vols plus a women's 4x400-meter relay team are entered at the Music City Challenge, with the UT distance, middle-distance, sprints, hurdles and jumps event groups represented. Action from Nashville will start Friday at 5 p.m. ET with the women's high jump and conclude with the women's 4x400-meter relay Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.

FOLLOW LIVE: Both meets this weekend will feature live video streams, available at ESPN.com/watch and the ESPN app. The Tiger Paw Invite will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, while the Music City Challenge will be carried on SEC Network+.

Additionally, live results from the Tiger Paw Invite will be provided by AdkinsTrak Timing Associates while C.F.P.I. Timing will provide live results from the Music City Challenge.

JEFCOAT EARNS WEEKLY HONOR: Tennessee track & field senior Hannah Jefcoat will compete this weekend as the reigning Southeastern Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, as the league office announced its weekly honors Tuesday afternoon.

The Dacula, Georgia, native topped her own all-time Tennessee record in the pole vault last weekend at the Doc Hale Elite Meet in Blacksburg, Virginia. On her third attempt at the bar, Jefcoat broke the 14-foot barrier for the first time in her career as she towered over 4.34 meters (14-2.75).

LLOYD RANKS AMONG JUNIOR WORLD LEADERS: 18-year-old Lady Vol redshirt sophomore Joella Lloyd posted a winning time of 7.33 in the women's 60-meter dash last week at Virginia Tech. That mark was good for a season-best and ranks Lloyd as the No. 3 U-20 performer in the world this season.

EVENT SQUAD RANKINGS: In the most recent installment of the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings, Tennessee has four event groups ranked inside the top-10 nationally.
