KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After having two weeks off, the No. 10 men's tennis team defeated No. 38 Georgia Tech, 4-0, on Friday afternoon in the Goodfriend Tennis Center.
The Vols move to 11-1 on the year and improve their record against the Yellow Jackets to 24-16 in program history.
"I thought Georgia Tech came out in certain spots, especially the doubles, and gave us some trouble," head coach Chris Woodruff said. "A win is a win and we will enjoy this tonight. We have to get back to work."
Tennessee came from behind to win the doubles point with Pat Harper and Mark Wallner clinching the match in a tiebreaker on court two, winning 7-6 (5). The other point came from Giles Hussey and Andrew Rogers on court one, 6-4.
Going into singles play up 1-0, Harper was the first one off the court, winning his match 6-3, 6-3, against Keshav Chopra in the No. 6 spot to give the Big Orange a 2-0 lead. With the victory, Harper moves to 2-0 on the year in the No. 6 position.
Next off was Martim Prata, winning the match 6-3, 7-5, over Cole Gromley on court two. Prata sits at 9-1 overall on the season and 4-0 in the second spot.

"Luca had a good win," Woodruff said. "His opponent had been winning a lot and I really liked the way that Luca won the tiebreaker."
