ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 10 Tennessee men's tennis team fell on the road Friday to No. 35 Georgia, 4-2 at the Dan Magill Tennis Center.

Georgia (6-2) took the doubles point over Tennessee with wins on courts one and three. UT snatched the early lead in doubles with a victory at No. 3 as Mark Wallner and Pat Harper defeated UGA's Robert Loeb and Erik Grevelius, 6-3.

The Bulldogs came right back as Adam Walton and Martim Prata fell on court two 4-6 to the 22nd-ranked pairing of Philip Henning and Blake Croyder. Georgia clinched the doubles point as No. 52 Giles Hussey and Andrew Rogers dropped a court one decision 4-6 to No. 36 Trent Bryde and Tyler Zink.

Tennessee (11-2) got on the board thanks to Harper as he knotted up the match at 1-1 with his victory over Loeb on court six. The sophomore from Brisbane, Australia quickly dispatched the Bulldog 6-3, 6-1. Harper is now 3-0 in dual match singles play this season.

The Vols and Bulldogs battled back-and-forth as Andrew Rogers gave UT a 2-1 lead with his win on court five over Grevelius 6-3, 6-3. The junior from Brentwood, Tenn., is 9-2 on the year. However, Georgia came right back on court two as Luca Wiedenmann fell to 26th-ranked Henning 2-6, 4-6.

With the match knotted at 2-2, the 23rd-ranked Walton fell in a hard-fought match 3-6, 5-7 to No. 22 Bryde. Georgia clinched the match shortly after as Prata dropped a three-setter on No. 2 to 72nd-ranked Zink 2-6, 6-4, 0-6.

Hussey and No. 95 Croyder went unfinished at No. 5, 2-6, 7-5, 1-3.

UP NEXT

The Vols will return home on March 6 as they host the two-time defending SEC Champion Mississippi State Bulldogs.
