KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 15/19 Tennessee men's tennis team welcomes the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to Goodfriend Tennis Center on Wednesday, February 26 for matinee action beginning at 2 p.m.
Middle Tennessee will provide a final tune up for the Vols before they jump into SEC play with Georgia at home on March 1.
Admission is free to all regular-season matches. Parking is available in Lot N-12 which is located at the corner of Lake Avenue and Volunteer Boulevard.
LAST TIME OUT: The Vols (8-1) are coming off a 2-0 weekend, claiming road wins over then No. 29 North Carolina State and Georgia Tech.
THE STREAK CONTINUES: Sophomore Adam Walton, ranked No. 94, has continued his hot streak, winning seven consecutive singles matches. He defeated Igor Saveljic of NC State 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 and knocked off Phillip Gresk of Georgia Tech 6-1, 6-4 last weekend.
MOVING UP: The Big Orange jumped seven spots from No. 26 to No. 19 in the latest ITA rankings.
SERIES HISTORY: Tennessee is 15-1 all-time against Middle Tennessee and last faced the Blue Raiders in 2010, beating them 7-0 in Knoxville. The teams first met in 1963.
SCOUTING THE MIDDLE TENNESSEE: The Blue Raiders are currently 8-6 on the year and 0-1 in true road matches. However, Middle Tennessee is riding a four-match win streak and is 8-2 when taking the doubles point.
UP NEXT: Tennessee opens up conference play at home with Georgia on Friday, March 1 at 6 p.m. The match will take place in the Goodfriend Tennis Center.
