- Hit 2-for-5 in UT's series finale at No. 8-ranked Kentucky, one of just two multi-hit games for the Vols in the Sunday contest (May 14).
- Went 2-for-3 with one walk to help UT to its 9-2 victory over ETSU in Knoxville (May 2).
- Drove in two runs to help Tennessee to its 8-1 rout of ETSU at the Tennessee Smokies Stadium in Kodak, Tenn. (April 26).
- Led UT's lineup in the series finale vs. No. 10-ranked Auburn (April 15), going 2-for-4 for his 12th multi-hit game of the year.
- Scored the winning run in a 10th frame to lift Tennessee over No. 10-ranked Auburn (April 14), going 2-for-5 in the contest.
- Was 2-for-5 with a run scored and one RBI in UT's series-clinching extra innings win at No. 7-ranked Florida, helping the Vols to a 3-2 win (April 8).

- Tied a UT school record for most extra-base hits in a single game with four (three doubles and one triple) vs. UCI Irvine in the Tony Gwynn Classic finale, becoming the first Volunteer to do so since Drew Steckenrider accomplished the feat on May 4, 2012 vs. Vanderbilt.
- Recorded his first multi-hit game on Feb. 22 at Loyola Marymount, going 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
- Made his collegiate debut as UT's starting left fielder on Feb. 17 in Memphis, going 1-for-4 with a walk as part of an 8-5 win. He was one of four true freshmen to start on Opening Day.
- In his most recent appearance on July 23, Ammons went 1-for-3 and drove in his 13th run of the season. The Tennessee native ranks fourth in the ABL with a .310 batting average and tied for fifth in hits with 36. Ammons was also named to the 2017 ABL National Team All-Star roster.

- Ranked as the No. 2 outfielder and 12th overall player in the state of Tennessee. He was also tabbed the 106th outfielder in the USA by Perfect Game in 2016.
