Vols Drop Match Against #3 TCU, 4-0

KNOXVILLE, Tenn - Tennessee Men's Tennis dropped its match on Monday afternoon to No. 3 TCU at Goodfriend Tennis Center, 4-0.
The Vols opened play with tight matches on all three doubles courts but ultimately lost the doubles point. The duo of Dragos Cazacu and Piotr Siekanowicz on court one had control from the very beginning, taking two early break points to lead 3-1 and cruising to a 6-3 victory.
The Horned Frogs then captured court two, leaving all eyes on the third court matchup of Ethan Muza and Alejandro Moreno vs. Filip Apltauer and Maximus Dussault. The UT tandem found themselves down 3-1 before going on a three-game run to take the lead at 4-3. The Vols, however, then lost the momentum and dropped the next three games
TCU then swept singles with wins on court 5, 2, and 4. Moreno led after capturing the first set in his unfinished match against No. 6 Duncan Chan at No. 1 singles. Jose Garcia took control on court three after winning set one, 7-5, but his match ultimately went unfinished. At No. 6 singles, Boruch Skierkier weathered the storm after dropping the first set 6-4, but he completely turned it around with a 6-0 win in the second. The match was halted before it finished due to the clinch.
MO IS ON FIRE
Senior Alejandro Moreno from Knoxville has really found his groove in his fourth season, taking down the No. 12-ranked player in Wake Forest's DK Suresh and winning the first set against the No. 6 Duncan Chan. Moreno is still perfect in singles after competing on courts one and two in the first four matches.

Tennessee turns its attention to ITA Kickoff Weekend, facing off vs. Texas A&M on Saturday in Raleigh, N.C. First serve is slated for 5 p.m. ET. The match will not count toward conference play.
