Men's Tennis Central: #5 Tennessee vs. The Citadel

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The fifth-ranked Tennessee men's tennis team is set to close out non-conference play with a doubleheader against The Citadel, slated for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. ET on Monday at Barksdale Stadium.
The Vols (9-3) are primed to open their outdoor season at Barksdale Stadium, seeking back-to-back undefeated outdoor regular seasons.

LAST TIME OUT
The Vols are coming off a trip to the Big Apple at ITA National Indoors, where they recorded sweeps over two top-10 ranked opponents, defeating No. 5 USC in the Round of 16 and No. 8 Harvard in a consolation match. Angel Diaz clinched both matches for the Vols.
Diaz and Johannus Monday registered a perfect 3-0 doubles record at the event, highlighted by their impressive 6-4 victory over Harvard's fourth-ranked Cooper Williams and Daniel Milavsky, their highest-ranked doubles win as a pair this season.
SCOUTING THE CITADEL
Monday's doubleheader marks the 17th and 18th all-time meeting between the Vols and the Bulldogs, with UT holding a perfect 16-0 record.
The Citadel is off to a 3-8 start this season, posting wins over Newberry, USC Sumter and Lees-McRae. Hayden Shoemake, who plays atop the Bulldogs' singles and doubles lineup, holds a 5-5 singles record and 7-5 doubles record, playing alongside Sebastian Kamieniecki. Duo Teo Cariov and Ted Bagwell boast a 5-5 record at the No. 2 spot in doubles.
