KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The sixth-ranked Tennessee men's tennis team is set to compete against another top-15 opponent on Sunday, taking on No. 15 Wake Forest at 1 p.m. ET inside Goodfriend Tennis Center.

LAST TIME OUT
The Vols battled to defeat No. 14 Michigan, 4-3, notching their first ranked victory of 2024 and their eighth since the beginning of the 2023 dual match season. No. 20 Johannus Monday delivered the clinching point in a hard-fought three-setter, taking down Michigan's No. 9 Gavin Young, 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-4, recording his 40th career win over a ranked opponent.
SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
When Tennessee (4-0) and Wake Forest (2-0) face off Sunday afternoon, it will mark the series' 20th edition, dating to 1975. The Vols hold a 13-6 advantage in the series. The Vols won 12 consecutive matches over Wake Forest from 1982-2014. The two squads meet for the third consecutive year and for the third time in the past six seasons. In 2022, Emile Hudd clinched a 4-3 victory for the then-top-ranked Vols over the then-10th-ranked Demon Deacons in Knoxville. Last season saw the No. 6 Vols drop a hard-fought 4-3 battle to No. 14 Wake Forest in Winston Salem.
The Demon Deacons routed ETSU, 6-1, and Elon, 5-2, in their season-opening doubleheader on Jan. 15. Senior Filippo Moroni, ranked seventh in singles, posted a 20-8 dual match record last season, playing primarily at the No. 1 and 2 spots. In 2023, Shunsuke Mitsui defeated Moroni in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
