LAST TIME OUT
Last time out, the Vols rolled past South Carolina, 4-1 on Friday afternoon in Columbia.
After claiming the doubles point, UT earned victories from graduate student Luca Wiedenmann, senior Adam Walton and freshman Johannus Monday to clinch match point at 4-1.
The win was the Vols eighth over a ranked opponent, all of which have been ranked inside the ITA's top-25.
Monday's match clinching victory was also his eighth over a ranked opponent as he knocked off No. 81 Raphael Lambling, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
SCOUTING FLORIDA
Coming into Sunday's match, Florida leads the all-time series between the Gators and the Vols, 36-26. This will be the team's first meeting since the 2019 NCAA Tournament Round of 16.
Tennessee fell in that 2019 matchup, 4-2, in what was a tight affair that saw three singles contests go to third sets.
A win on Sunday would be Tennessee's third win over Florida since 2011 and its first regular season triumph over the Gators since downing Florida, 7-0 in 2011.
Florida currently has four singles players (No. 8 Sam Riffice, No. 12 Duarte Vale, No. 85 Andy Andrade, No. 68 Blasé Bicknell) and on doubles pair (No. 45 Sam Riffice and Duarte Vale) ranked by the ITA.
WILL LUCA EVER LOSE?
Graduate student Luca Wiedenmann arrives in Gainesville riding a career-long 23 match win streak and is a perfect 13-0 in dual action.
The streak dates to Oct. 3, 2020, with his last loss coming on the opening day of the Fall season.
UP NEXT
Tennessee returns to action next weekend for road contests against Auburn on Friday afternoon and Alabama on Sunday. First serve for Friday's match is set for 3 p.m. ET, while Sunday's match will get going at 2 p.m. ET.
