KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee track & field program continues its 2021 outdoor campaign this week, splitting up for two meets at ACC venues. UT will send a small group of distance runners to NC State for the Raleigh Relays, while all other event groups will be represented in Tallahassee, Florida, at the FSU Relays. Both meets will run Thursday and Friday, March 25-26.

FSU MEET INFORMATION: 37 Tennessee athletes are headed down to Tallahassee for the FSU Relays at Mike Long Track. The competition will kick off Thursday at 2 p.m. with the hammer throw, with day one action wrapping up at 7:15 with the women's 200-meter dash. Tennessee will compete in 15 events on Friday, beginning at 11 a.m. with the discus throw and concluding at 1:50 p.m. with the women's 4x400-meter relay.

The Vols and Lady Vols will be competing against eight other schools at the meet: Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Liberty, North Florida and USF.

RALEIGH MEET INFORMATION: 12 UT distance specialists are entered in five events this week at the Raleigh Relays on NC State's Paul Derr Track. Action begins Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with the men's 1,500-meter and concludes Friday night at 9:25 with the men's 10,000-meter.

Tennessee's group in Raleigh this week includes Olivia Janke, Sydney Seymour, Abigail Smith, Katie Thronson, Max Barbour, Nick Brey, Riley Buchholz, Alex Crigger, Georde Goodwyn, Mike Griffin, Conner Hawkins and Karl Thiessen.

OUTDOOR DEBUTS: Between the men's and women's squads competing this weekend, a total of 18 athletes will be making their first career outdoor track & field appearances for the Big Orange: Ellison Colarossi, Emma Dilullo, Prom'Myse Hoosier, Shatara Johnson, Joella Lloyd, Latavia Maines, Skyler Reynolds, Sydney Seymour, Christopher Bailey, Spencer Brown, Emmanuel Bynum, Sebastian Cooper, Mike Griffin, Kameron Helmlinger, Daniel Igbokwe, Alex Kay, Will Mazur and Anthony Riley.

Additionally, 14 returners will be making their 2021 season debuts this week: Hannah Jefcoat, Abigail Smith, Sydney Seymour, Katie Thronson, Max Barbour, Nick Brey, Alex Crigger, Georde Goodwyn, Conner Hawkins, Joe Hoots, Jonathan Sacoor, Jalen Tate, Karl Thiessen and Jordan West.

WATSON WINS WEEKLY HONOR: Lady Vol redshirt freshman Vanessa Watson was recognized as the SEC Women's Co-Runner of the Week on Tuesday following her performances at last week's Auburn Tiger Track Classic. The Rochester, New York, native posted an NCAA-leading time of 57.88 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles to go along with an impressive 52.2-second split on the 4x400-meter relay. Her mark in the hurdles is the fastest by an American during the 2021 outdoor season and ranks eighth globally.

TOP-25 NCAA MARKS: Through the first week of Tennessee's outdoor season, the Vols and Lady Vols have recorded nine marks in eight events that rank inside the top-25 on the 2021 NCAA list. Each of those respective marks also rank inside the top-5 in the SEC this year.
