Outdoor- Recorded a new personal-best in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:58.82 at the Tennessee Challenge (5/1)
- Finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run at the Tennessee Relays, clocking in for a personal-best time of 14:40.23
- Suited up for the first time in almost two years and recorded a 15-second personal-best in the men's 10,000-meter run at the Raleigh Relays (3/26), completing 25 laps in 30:32.06
2019 CROSS COUNTRY
- Ran unattached at the Tennessee Tri-Star Cross Country Challenge season opener (8/30) with a third place finish and time of 21:15.21.
2019 TRACK & FIELD
Indoor
- Earned his highest individual finish at the Tiger Paw Invite (2/9), placing second in the 5000m at 14:54.81
- Turned in a season-best time of 8:46.79 in the 3K at the Hokie Invitational (1/18)
Outdoor
- Competed in the 1500m at the Tennessee Relays and finished with a time of 4:01.14 (4/13)
- Ran a personal-best in the 3000m with a time of 8:49.97 at the Power 5 Trailblazer Challenge (3/23)
2018 CROSS COUNTRY
- Completed his degree in Physics in December
- Competed in four meets during the season, scoring as the Vols' fourth runner in three of them
- Recorded a career-best 8K time of 24:48.8 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Classic, placing 146th
- Finished 36th/5th team at the NCAA South Regional in the 10K (32:33.5).
2018 TRACK & FIELD
Indoor
- Placed 16th in the 5,000m at the SEC indoor championships in 14:43.67, just off his season-best pace
- Shaved 12 seconds off his previous personal best in the 5,000m, running 14:43.50 at the Husky Classic (2/9)
- Clocked a career-best time of 8:26.16 in the 3,000m at Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational (1/27)
- Placed fifth in the 3,000m at the Indiana-Tennessee Dual (1/6) with a time of 8:28.67
Outdoor
- In his first outdoor season, competed in the 1500m, 5000m and 10,000m
- Placed 14th at the Stanford Invite in the 5000m with a personal best time of 14:42.63
2017 TRACK & FIELD
Indoor
- Notched a personal record in the 5000m race at the SEC Indoor Championship as he finished in 14:55.70
- Set a new personal best in the 3000m with a time of 8:31.08 as he took sixth place at the VT "Doc Hale" Elite Meet
- Notched a fifth place finish with a time of 15:13.59 in the 5000m competition at the Commodore Invitational
- Took fourth place in his first track competition as he finished the 3000m in 8:49.60 at the Tennessee Dual
2016 CROSS COUNTRY
- Finished fifth for the Vols at the NCAA South Regional race, finishing with a 10K time of 32:46.5
- Completed the SEC Championship race in 26:06.20, finishing third for the Big Orange
- Finished second for the Volunteers at the Crimson Classic with a time of 25:55.10
- Took 112th in his Tennessee cross country debut at the Greater Louisville Classic as he completed the 8K race in 25:31.64
PERSONAL
- Nicolas Joseph Brey, son of Angela and Steve, was born on May 7, 1996
- Majoring in Physics with a concentration in Astronomy and a minor in Geology (graduated December 2018)
- Transferred to Tennessee from Marquette University
- Earned high honors in high school and was part of the Italian Club and the President's Association.
- Competed in cross country, swimming and track while at St. Viator HS
- Posted his top 8K time at Marquette of 26:27.2 at the BIG EAST Championship
- Entered Tennessee with a 1600m PR of 4:21 and a 3200m PR of 9:32
