KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Fresh off of earning a trip to the ITA Indoor National Championships, the 10th-ranked Tennessee men's tennis team returns to action for a Friday afternoon showdown with Notre Dame. First serve from the Goodfriend Tennis Center is slated for 1 p.m. ET.

All matches played inside the Goodfriend Tennis Center will be played without fans. A decision regarding matches being played outdoors at Barksdale Stadium will be made at a later date.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, UT traveled east to Raleigh, North Carolina and took down then-No. 17 Ole Miss and then-No. 8 NC State at ITA Kickoff Weekend to advance to the ITA Indoor National Championships for the first time since 2014.
On Friday, the Orange & White took down SEC foe Ole Miss, 4-2. After losing the doubles point, the Vols earned four straight-set triumphs in singles play, with graduate student Luca Wiedenmann clinching the match with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory over John Hallquist Lithen on court five.
On Saturday, UT rolled past regional hosts NC State, 4-1, after dominating through the doubles point and grabbing three straight-set wins in singles play, advancing to National Indoors.
SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
Friday's encounter will be the third between the Vols and Fighting Irish in a series dating to 1991. Tennessee has won both meetings, with the most recent matchup between the programs being a 5-1 win for the Orange & White in 1993.
In the rankings, the Irish are led by senior Richard Ciamarra who sits at No. 6 in the ITA preseason singles rankings, while the doubles pair of Tristan McCormick and Axel Nefve come in at No. 19 in the preseason doubles rankings.
VOLS CLAIM HONORS
The pair of junior Martim Prata and freshman Johannus Monday swept the SEC's first weekly honors. Prata was named the conferences Player of the Week, while Monday walked away with the Freshman of the Week acclaim.
The honors were the first for each player as Prata is currently 5-0 in both singles and doubles, while Monday is 4-1 in singles and 5-0 in doubles with Prata as his partner.

Tennessee will take a week-long break before playing host to Duke next Friday afternoon. The opening serve in doubles play is slated for 1 p.m. ET from inside the Goodfriend Tennis Center.
