Tennis Central: Volunteer Showdown
November 05, 2020 | Men's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – For the first time since March 8, the Tennessee men's tennis team will return home to both the Goodfriend Tennis Center and Barksdale Stadium for competitive matches when it hosts the Volunteer Showdown this weekend.
The Vols will be joined by SEC foes Mississippi State and South Carolina, while Conference USA member, Middle Tennessee State rounds out the four-team field.
The event will be played in a round-robin style with each squad playing sets of singles and doubles matches against each opponent.
No spectators will be permitted at any matches throughout the weekend.
This will be UT's final event in its abbreviated Autumn schedule, with the goal being to maintain momentum heading into the Spring season in 2021.
Despite no spectators, live stats will be provided through Sidearm Stats, while live video feeds of every match will be available through a free account with Playsight.

Tennessee was dominant all weekend long at the Bulldog Challenge (10/23-10/25), claiming victories in 30-of-36 total matches, with a team record of 22-2 in singles play.
