"The Virginia Challenge went extremely well for us across the board. We had a large distance contingent and had some breakthroughs in the 1500s and 800s with great section wins by Sarah Reeves and Scott Cousino in the 800s. There were some great PRs by Adam Johnston and Brad Swiney. Brad and Wes (Robinson) came back tonight in the 5K and PR-ed by about eight seconds. Megan Murray had about a 20-second PR in the women's 5K.Â
"On the field side of things, Ingar had his season best long jump so far. We had a great performance by Maya Neal in the long jump and then a good hurdle race from Kiara. I'm really proud of Darryl Sullivan too. He's looking at bigger bars and executing well. I feel like he's on track.Â
"All of us are climbing the ladder and that's what it takes. This week was a transition from an exciting home meet to a meet next week where we see a lot of SEC teams and wrap up the regular season. This was a week to take steps forward and see the progress. They came in and competed hard. I was very proud of them."
