Bio

Darryl Sullivan punched his ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the men’s high jump for Team USA. The four-time All-American matched his lifetime-best mark with a clearance of 2.33 meters (7-7.75) to place second at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. The all-time school record holder in the event, Sullivan is the first Tennessee track & field athlete to qualify for the Olympics in the high jump.

2021 TRACK & FIELD
Outdoor- In his final meet in a Tennessee uniform, placed second at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials after equaling his PR of 2.33 meters (7-7.75) to book his trip to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games
- Took fourth place in the high jump at the NCAA Championships (6/11) with a mark of 2.23 meters (7-3.75)
- Punched his first ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships after clearing 2.19 meters (7-2.25) at the NCAA East Prelims (5/28)
- Broke Randy Jenkins' 27-year-old outdoor high jump school record as he cleared 2.33 meters (7-7.75) at the SEC Championships, earning silver with the No. 2 mark in meet history
- Improved his NCAA DI-leading mark in the high jump by one centimeter, clearing an outdoor PB of 2.27 meters (7-5.25) for the win at the Clark Wood Open (4/23)
- Returned to competition at the Tennessee Relays (4/9) with a winning clearance of 2.26 meters (7-5), moving up to No. 3 on Tennessee's all-time list
2020 TRACK & FIELD
Outdoor
- Did not compete, as the 2020 outdoor track & field season was canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) global health crisis
- Completed his degree in Recreation & Sport Management in May of 2020
- Qualified for his third NCAA Indoor Championship, entering the meet as the national leader in the high jump with a mark of 2.33m (7-7.75)
- Placed fourth in the men's high jump at the SEC Indoor Championships (2/29) with a clearance of 2.16m (7-1)
- Earned his third-straight high jump win at the Tiger Paw Invitational (2/15) (2.25m / 7-4.5)
- Jumped 2.33m (7-7.75) at the Virginia Tech Invitational (1/18), tying the all-time SEC record and No. 4 mark in NCAA history
- Cleared a height of 2.25m (7-4.5) at the Tennessee-Indiana Duals (1/11) for the No. 1 mark in the NCAA at the time of the event
2019 TRACK & FIELD
Outdoor- Finished 15th in the high jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships (5/25) with a clearance of 2.16m (7-1)
- Had a personal-best clearance in the high jump at the SEC Outdoor Championships (5/11) with a mark of 2.21m (7-3) and placed third
- At the Tom Jones Invite, cleared 2.16m (7-1) in the high jump and took second
- Cleared 2.14m (7-0.25) in the high jump at the War Eagle Invitational (4/20) and placed third
- Took first in the high jump for the second-straight meet in a row at the Tennessee Relays (4/13), with a mark of 2.15m (7-0.5)
- Finished first in the high jump at the Stanford Invitational (3/30) with a clearance of 2.20m (7-2.5)
- Competed in two events at the Power 5 Trailblazer Challenge (3/23), including second in the high jump with a mark of 2.12m (6-11.5) and fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.69m (21-11.5)
- Placed second in the high jump at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships (3/9) by tying his life-time best mark of 2.26m (7-5)
- Finished sixth in the high jump at the SEC Indoor Championships (2/23) with a jump of 2.19m (7-2.25)
- Picked up his third-straight high jump win at Clemson's Tiger Paw Invite with a mark of 2.15m (7-0.5)
- Posted the No. 2 mark in UT history indoors at the Hokie Invite, high jumping a lifetime-best 2.26m (7-5)
- Won the high jump to start his junior season at the Tennessee-Indiana Duals, clearing 2.19m (7-2.25)
2018 TRACK & FIELD
Outdoor- Placed 16th at the NCAA East Prelims (5/26), clearing 2.06m
- Set a new personal best of 2.19m and claimed a sixth place finish at the SEC Outdoor Championships (5/11)
- Notched a first place finish at the Virginia Challenge (4/20), clearing 2.16m
- Posted eighth-place finish with high jump of 2.10m at Clemson's Tiger Paw Invite (2/10)
- At Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational (1/27), finished second in high jump at 2.15m
- Took fourth with high jump of 2.15m at UAB Vulcan Invite (1/13)
- Placed fifth in the high jump at the Hoosier Open (12/8), clearing 2.11m
2017 TRACK & FIELD
Outdoor- Finished in a tie for 19th in the high jump at the NCAA East Prelims as he cleared 2.10m, the same height as four qualifiers
- Posted his top mark of the year at the SEC Championship as he cleared 2.15m and took fifth place in the high jump
- Notched a fifth place finish in the high jump as he cleared 2.06m at the SEC Relays
- Placed second in the high jump at the USC Open as he cleared 2.08m
- Tied for 12th place in the high jump as he cleared 2.10m (6-10.75) on his first attempt at the NCAA Indoor Championship
- Tied for sixth place in the high jump competition at the SEC Indoor Championship as he cleared 2.09m and scored 2.5 points for the Vols
- Reset his own Tennessee freshman record and moved into fifth place on the school's all-time high jump list as he cleared 2.20m (7-2.5) and took first place at the Tiger Paw Invitational
- Notched second place, but first amongst collegians as he cleared 2.14m (7-0.25) in the high jump at the VT "Doc Hale" Elite Meet
- Set the Tennessee freshman high jump record at 2.15m (7-0.5) as he surpassed the 2.13m mark held by Larry Clapp (1978) and Tony Heitzman (1984) at the Commodore Invitational
- Took third place, but tied for the top mark with a high jump of 2.13m (6-11.75) at the Indiana-Tennessee Dual
- Won his first collegiate competition with a high jump of 2.11m (6-11) at the Hoosier Open.
