KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee hits the road for the first time this season as its travels to Cincinnati for a three-game series against the Bearcats this weekend.

The Vols are coming off a pair of midweek split against James Madison after going 3-2 overall in five games last week. Friday's series opener against the Bearcats will be the first game UT has played away from Lindsey Nelson Stadium this season after opening the year with 14 straight home games.

Sunday's series finale will also feature a radio broadcast on Sports Radio WNML (FM 99.1 / AM 990) with John Wilkerson calling the action.

- Tennessee is coming off a midweek split with James Madison, winning Tuesday's contest before falling to the Dukes on Wednesday.
- The Vols went 3-2 last week, winning both midweek games before going 1-2 in the Tri-Star Classic over the weekend.
- UT exploded for seven runs in the first inning of Tuesday's 10-1 win over James Madison. It marked the most runs scored in an inning by the Vols this season. It was also the most runs scored in an inning for UT since also scoring seven in the seventh inning of an 18-4 win over Austin Peay on March 15, 2017.
- Freshman RHP Sean Hunley continued the solid start to his career by earning his second straight win in Tuesday's victory over James Madison. Hunley threw seven scoreless innings and had a career-high six strikeouts in the win. The Mount Juliet, Tenn., native has now thrown 11.2 consecutive scoreless innings.
- Freshman Brandon Trammell hit his first-career home run in Tuesday's win over the Dukes, a pinch hit, two-run shot in the seventh inning. The Vols have now hit two pinch-hit homers this season and both have come off the bats of true freshmen (Trammell and Evan Russell).
- Pete Derkay and Benito Santiago both carry lengthy on-base streaks into this weekend's series with the Bearcats. Derkay has reached base is all 14 games this season and 15 straight dating back to last year while Santiago has reached safely in 13 consecutive games.
- Sophomore shortstop Andre Lipcius is coming off a great week, batting .450 while leading the team in hits (nine), runs (seven), home runs (two), doubles (two), RBI (seven) and slugging percentage (.850). Lipcius' 18 RBI this season are tied for fourth in the SEC.

- Sophomore right hander Garrett Stallings put forth a dominant performance on the mound in his last start to help lead Tennessee to a bounce-back 2-1 win over Memphis on day two of the Tri-Star Classic. Stallings tossed his first-career complete game to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Chesapeake, Va., native took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and allowed just one run on three hits. He also tied a career high with five strikeouts on the afternoon.
