KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee's Timo Stodder, Scott Jones and Preston Touliatos each won a pair of matches Friday to advance to the singles round of 16 of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships.

Two rounds of doubles (third round and quarterfinals) and one round of singles (fourth round) will be played Saturday. Admission is free at Goodfriend Tennis Center. Parking at Goodfriend is available in Lot SC-40 off Cumberland Avenue.

Touliatos improved to a 5-1 on the season, but his path to the fourth round proved to be the most difficult. The junior from Birmingham, Alabama, defeated Kentucky's Gus Benson 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in his first match and backed that up with another three-set rally, beating Butler's Mason Dragos 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Jones, seeded 11th, defeated Conner Andersen of Ball State 6-3, 6-1 and then advanced when Frazier Rengifo of ETSU retired in the second match with Jones up 6-4, 4-2.

Stodder, the tournament's No. 2 seed, earned his way through with a 6-3, 6-2 win over ETSU's Tasei Miyamoto and a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory against Kentucky's Austin Hussey after a slow start.

In doubles, only one of three doubles teams advanced. Stodder and Jones came from down a break to oust eighth-seeded Robert Herrera and Sergi Fontcuberta of ETSU in a tiebreaker 8-7(3).
