Vols Defeat Charlotte 6-1 in Tennis Opener

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee men's tennis team defeated Charlotte 6-1 on Saturday in the season opener, the first of two matches against the 49ers today at Goodfriend Tennis Center.

The Vols (1-0) dropped the doubles point but rolled ahead in singles, taking the first set all six courts before eventually sweeping them all.

Freshmen Adam Walton, Andrew Rogers and Nicaise Muamba won their first dual matches for Tennessee. Muamba just started his UT career last week, arriving on campus from Laval, Quebec.

Tennessee and Charlotte play again at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
