'Jackie came in this summer to work out with the team, so she[apos]s going to have a nice strength base. She worked hard and we feel that even though she[apos]s going to have a little less experience than our other middles, we think she[apos]s going to catch up to them very quickly. She[apos]s a tall player who already is a pretty good blocker and can physically match up with most hitters. We[apos]re excited to see her development in her first year here.'

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated with a 4.38 GPA and was named to the National Honor Roll...Involved with Beta Club, National Honors Society, Key Club and was an AIMS Scholar...Played four years for the Dobyns-Bennett High School volleyball team and played on the basketball and softball squads for a season each...Named team MVP and served as team captain her junior and senior seasons...As a junior, earned mention to the Class AAA All-State Second Team, while her senior campaign saw Ramsdale attain first team honors...Also was named to both the Big 7 All-Conference Team and All-Northeast Tennessee First Team those seasons...Named the 2004 All-Northeast Tennessee and Big 7 Conference Players of the Year...Named to the District I All-Tournament team in 2002, [apos]03 and [apos]04...Region I All-Tournament team honoree in 2004...Compiled more than 1,100 kills in her high school career, setting a school record. PERSONAL: Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences...Biggest athletic thrill so far came with her 1,000th career kill in high school...Ambitions are to win SEC and NCAA championships...Former teammate, Kayla Mordock, plays at Emory & Henry College...Came to Tennessee because of the quality of the school and volleyball program and the atmosphere...Also looked at Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina before deciding to come to Knoxville...Enjoys relaxing and meeting new people...Has a sister, Cassey, 21, and brother, Ross, 14...Jackie Elaine Ramsdale, the daughter of Jody and Marc Ramsdale, was born on April 8, 1987, in Longview, Texas.
