2011 - JUNIOR
• Appeared in one contest as a junior.• Struck out one and walked one in one inning of work against New Orleans on March 9.
2010 - SOPHOMORE
• Saw action in four games as a sophomore, but did not factor into a decision.• Made his first appearance of the season against Binghamton on March 5, retiring the only batter he faced on two pitches.
• Tossed 1.1 perfect innings of relief at Western Kentucky on March 9, striking out one.
• Walked three batters and allowed three runs versus Marshall on March 14.
• Threw a perfect inning of relief in his home state when UT traveled to Western Carolina on April 21, striking out one.
• Spent his summer with the Asheboro Copperheads in the Coastal Plains League.
• Worked 20.1 innings in relief, putting together a 2.66 ERA.
2009 - FRESHMAN
• Made four appearances on the year with a 0-0 record and a 6.00 ERA in three innings.• Made his Tennessee debut with a scoreless inning against Radford on March 3.
• Collected two more scoreless outings against Ohio (March 8) and Belmont (April 14).
• Allowed two runs on four hits in a one-inning relief appearance against Lipscomb on April 8.
HIGH SCHOOL
• Graduated from Swain County High School in Bryson City, N.C., where he was coached by Brandon Deitz.• Posted a 7-0 record as a senior in 2008 and also logged one save while leading the Maroon Devils to the Smoky Mountain Conference championship and a 21-3 record (the best in school history).
• Fashioned a 2.98 ERA with 68 strikeouts in 2008.
• Earned All-Conference honors as a senior and was named to the Asheville Citizen-Times[apos] 2008 All-Western North Carolina Team.
• Went 5-4 as a junior in 2007 and earned All-Smoky Mountain Conference honors.
• Also played small forward on the basketball team as a senior.
• Was a member of the National Honor Society.

• Attended the same high school as Heath Shuler, former Tennessee and NFL quarterback and current member of the U.S. House of Representatives
