Martin Doskocil Joins Vol Recruiting Class
May 20, 2026 | Men's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Martin Doskocil, a 6-foot-5 lefty who has claimed four junior titles, has signed with Tennessee, Vol Tennis Head Coach Chris Woodruff confirmed on Wednesday. Doskocil will compete for the Big Orange during the 2026-27 season.
"Martin is someone we think has tremendous upside and is only scratching the surface with his tennis. He is a 6-5 lefty who will bring some real firepower to Knoxville," Associate Head Coach Matt Lucas said. "He is a tremendous kid who has a high motor and work rate, and we cannot wait to get him on campus. Our coaching staff is thrilled he chose Tennessee, and we are excited to help him reach his full potential on and off the court."
Doskocil was a highly-touted recruit, possessing a 12.26 UTR and reaching a career-high No. 85 ITF juniors ranking. The 18-year-old from the Czech Republic owns a 112-71 singles record in juniors as well. He joins Tennessee after de-committing from Auburn.
One of the highlights of Doskocil's career was being part of the 2023 Czechia team that won the Davis Cup Juniors title in Spain. His nomination for that team came after a strong 2022-23 performance, when he won J5 Siauliai and J5 Pecs titles in 2022.
The clay court specialist has more than 75 wins on that surface, but he is strong on hard surfaces as well with a career 65-percent win percentage to his credit.
Tennessee now has three newcomers for the fall 2026 campaign, with Doskocil giving the Vols their third freshman signee. He joins prep standout Adrian Barca from California, and Daniel Jovanovski, a top-rated junior player from Australia.
