Weekend Preview: #19 Lady Vols Close Regular Season at Home Against Arkansas & Oklahoma

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --Â The #19 Tennessee volleyball team closes out the regular season this weekend, hosting a pair of matches against Arkansas and Oklahoma. The match against Arkansas will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and stream on SEC Network+, while the regular season finale against Oklahoma is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday and will be televised nationally on SEC Network.
Sunday's match against the Sooners will also serve as the Lady Vols' Senior Day. Keondreya Granberry, Gülce Güçtekin, Hayden Kubik, Klaudia Pawlik, and Brynn Williams will be honored in a special ceremony before the first serve of the match.
Both matches will also serve as Tennessee's Salute to Service games. Current military members and veterans who present their Military ID or DD 214 at the gates upon entry receive complimentary admission for themselves & immediate family members.Â
For fans attending Saturday's homecoming football game against New Mexico State, you can also gain free admission into Friday's match against Arkansas if you present your football ticket at the ticket window.
Doors will open one hour before each match, and fans can purchase tickets on AllVols.com. Parking is available on the top level of G-5/G-30 garage located at the corner of Lake Loudoun and Phillip Fulmer Way, directly across the street from the arena. Gate B will be the entrance for general fans, while students and player guests are encouraged to use Gate C. The clear bag policy is in effect for the match. Tennessee comes into the weekend after splitting its final road contest of the regular season against Vanderbilt and #2 Kentucky. Hayden Kubik and Starr WIlliams led the offense on the road trip, finishing with 34 and 25 kills respectively. Güçtekin set a new career-high against Kentucky, reaching 30 digs. She became the first Lady Vol to reach 30 digs in a match since Yelianiz Torres back on Oct. 20, 2022 against Arkansas.
Against Vanderbilt, Caroline Kerr eclipsed 3,000 career assists, becoming the seventh Lady Vol in program history to go over that mark in a career. Kerr currently has 3,051 assists, which ranks sixth all-time. Kerr also ranks sixth all-time in the Tennessee record books in assists per set at 10.65. Kerr enters the week with 737 assists this season, and ranks sixth in the SEC at 9.70 assists per set. She has finished with 30 or more assists in 14 matches this season, while also tying her career-high with 57 against Florida.
The Razorbacks enter the weekend after dropping a home match against Mississippi State. Leading the team in kills is freshman outside hitter Parker Duncan with 303. Kiki Remensperger leads the team in assists at 813, a total that ranks sixth in the SEC. Remensperger also leads the team in digs, with 249 this season. Leading the team in blocks is Journey Peppers with 87 this season. Arkansas as a team enters play with 1,275 digs, a total that is second-most in the conference. The all-time series between the Lady Vols and the Razorbacks is tied at 25-25, with Tennessee winning last year's matchup in Knoxville.
The Sooners enter the weekend in the midst of a three-game winning streak. KJ Burgess has a .440 hitting percentage on the season, leading the SEC and ranking seventh in Division I. Burgess also leads the team in blocks and blocks per set, with both totals ranking in the top five of the conference. Leading the Sooner attack is Alexis Shelton with 354 kills, the sixth-most in the SEC. The duo of Amaya Maga and Harper Hall feed the Oklahoma offense, with both having 594 and 355 assists respectively. Oklahoma is second in the conference with 1,114 assists, while also ranking fifth at 12.66 assists per set. One of the top serve teams in the conference, Oklahoma ranks second in aces with 142 and third in aces per set at 1.61. Leading the team in Emoni Bush with 30, while her 0.34 aces per set average is tied for fifth. The Sooners and the Lady Vols have met just four times, with the series deadlocked at a 2-2 record. Oklahoma took last season's matchup in Norman, winning the match in four sets.
