#18 Tennessee Concludes Texas Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 18 Tennessee women's tennis team finished competition at the Texas Invitational, hosted at the Texas Tennis Center. The Lady Vols tallied three singles wins against No. 7 Texas and two doubles victories versus Wisconsin.
The Lady Vols kicked off action against the Longhorns, grabbing three singles wins. Maeve Thornton posted a 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 victory over Eszter Meri. Elim Yan fended off Shacf Lieberman in a three-set contest, 5-7, 7-6 (12), 6-2. Saray Yli-Piipari added the final win, shutting out Maddy MacNeille, 6-0, 6-0.
No. 10 Elza Tomase dropped a 3-6, 6-7 (7) affair to No. 28 Carmen Herea. No. 19 Catherine Aulia fell 6-4, 7-6(5) to No. 44 Ariana Anahahasty-Pursoo. No. 95 Vivian Ovrootsky outlasted No. 54 Vanesa Suarez, 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles, Tennessee posted a pair of wins against the Badgers. Aulia and Leyla Britez Risso tallied a 6-3 win against Taylor Cataldi and Kaja Jacobson. Francesca Mattioli and Thornton nabbed the other win with a 6-3 victory over Aeriel Johnson and Alina Mukhorta. Tomase and Yan fell in a 2-6 defeat to Maria Sholokhova and Ellison Reynoldson.
