KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Originally slated to run Friday in the Gamecock Challenge, Tennessee cross country will now compete Saturday in the Furman Invitational in Greenville, South Carolina. Both the 16th-ranked Vols and Lady Vols will run 6K races beginning with the women at 9:15 a.m. ET, followed by the men at 10 a.m.

RACE LINEUPS
Women's 6K – 9:15 a.m. ET
Coming off a home meet victory to open the cross country season, the Lady Vols look to continue their rise on Friday. The women slated to race are Msgana Araya, Andie-Marie Jones, Ashley Jones, Chesney Peterson, Lia Pugsley, Julia Ray, Jordan Rayl, Lauren Rutlin, Summer Schuster, Jessie Secor, Jaci Sievers, Rachel Sutliff, Callie Tucker and Oliwia Wawrzyniak.

MEN'S 6K – 10 a.m.
The men enter the race seeking their second win of the season after finishing first in the home opener. Yaseen Abdalla, Brett Brady, Brody Chapman, Christopher Cherry, Brendan Gomez, Connor Henson, Nate Kawalec, Jacob Lewis, Eli Nahom, Jacob Nenow, Brandon Olden, Gabriel Sanchez and Yordanos Zelinski are scheduled to race for the Vols.

LAST TIME OUT
Both squads won in the season-opening Tennessee Cross Country Invitational two weeks ago. The Lady Vols dominated the meet with a perfect score of 15 points in the team standings, as five Tennessee runners crossed the finish line in a 0.5-second span. Freshman Chesney Peterson led the women with a time of 17:18.1.

The men won the home contest with 24 points – led by Eli Nahom crossing first in 19:53.3.

Both Peterson and Nahom took home SEC weekly honors following their victories – Nahom winning SEC Men's Runner of the Week and Peterson capturing SEC Women's Freshman Runner of the Week.

UP NEXT
Tennessee will enter an extended training cycle following the Furman Invitational. The next race weekend comes Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13-14 with the squads splitting up between the Crimson Classic hosted by Alabama and Pre-Nationals hosted by Virginia.
