Cross and Lewis Finish in Top 10; Vols Third at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Spencer Cross and Bryce Lewis each recorded top-10 finishes and the No. 20 Tennessee men's golf team finished third at the Mason Rudolph Championship Sunday at Vanderbilt Legends Club.

The Vols shot a three-round total of 16-under, including 3-under on Sunday. Including Tennessee, just three teams in the field shot under par during round three. The third-place finish marks Tennessee's second top-three finish of the season.

Cross and Lewis tied for ninth-place overall in the tournament, each shooting three-round totals of 6-under. Cross closed out the tournament with a 2-under round three on Sunday, while Lewis was 1-under.

It marks the 10th career top-10 finish for Cross and his third of the season. Tennessee's leader in stroke average on the year, Cross has been the Vols' top finisher a team-high four times this season.

Lewis also recorded his third top-10 finish of the season, as well as the sixth of his career. With three rounds par or better on the weekend, Lewis pushed his season total to 15.

Shooting 1-under and recording a 24th-place finish, Tyler Johnson secured his fourth top-25 finish of the season, which also stands as the 20th such finish of his career. With Johnson's top-25 finish, Tennessee has had three golfers finish inside the top-25 during two straight tournaments.

Jake Hall and Hunter Wolcott both narrowly missed out on top-25 finishes, tying for 28th place and shooting even par for the weekend. Hall and Wolcott each contributed counting rounds on Sunday, both shooting even par during round three.

Competing as an individual, Laurent Desmarchais finished in 60th place, shooting 8-over.

After playing two tournaments in less than a week, Tennessee has another quick turnaround before its next tournament—teeing off at the Lewis Chitengwa Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia, in eight days on April 11.
