Women’s Tennis Central: #29 Tennessee vs. #15 Georgia

KNOXVILLE – Returning to Rocky Top after a two-match road swing, the Tennessee women's tennis team faces 15th-ranked Georgia on Saturday, March 19, at noon.
Prior to the start of the match, the Lady Volunteers, in conjunction with the men's tennis team, will be honoring long-time sport administrator Dara Worrell. Worrell, who retired earlier this year, spent 27 years serving Tennessee athletics in various different departments. Her ties to the tennis program run deep as she was the sport administrator for the Lady Vols when current head coach Alison Ojeda was a student-athlete.

The Lady Vols (8-4, 2-2 SEC) begin their second to last home stand of the season against the Bulldogs. Next weekend, Tennessee will welcome Texas A&M, on Friday, and LSU, on Sunday, to Rocky Top
LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee fell in both road matches last weekend, 1-4, to South Carolina and to Florida. Both of the Lady Vols pointss came in singles as Tenika McGiffin put together a come-from-behind victory against the Gamecocks on Court 2, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Esther Adeshina cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win on Court 4 on Sunday in Gainesville.
RANKING THE LADY VOLS
No updates to the ITA Individual Rankings were released this week. In the last update, made on March 9, Tennessee had three singles and one doubles pair on the charts:

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Georgia (8-2, 4-0 SEC) travels to Tennessee after a massive victory over No. 4 Ohio State on Wednesday afternoon in Athens. That match marked the first non-conference matchup the Bulldogs played that was not at an ITA event (ITA Kickoff Weekend and ITA National Indoor Championship). UGA is currently ranked No. 15 in the Tennis-Point ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
Five Bulldogs are in the singles rankings:
Mell Reasco – No. 25
Lea Ma – No. 49
Meg Kowalski – No. 71
Dasha Vidmanova – No. 113
Ania Hertel – No. 122
Also in the rankings are a pair of doubles teams:

Georgia leads the all-time series, 50-9. The Lady Vols trail 17-5 at home against the Bulldogs. Tennessee's last win came on April 23, 2011 when it bested UGA, 4-1, in Knoxville.
FUTURE DR. DUCKWORTH
Celebrating her birthday on Friday, March 18, co-captain Kylie Duckworth prepares for one of her final five matches in Knoxville. The senior will be heading off to medical school next year and aspires to become a surgeon. A full feature on the Georgia native can be found here.
