March 28, 2021 | Men's Golf
WEST POINT, Miss. – The Tennessee men's golf team wrapped up play at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship Sunday, finishing the tournament tied for fourth place.
The Vols shot 3-under 861 overall for the weekend, while three members of Tennessee's lineup registered top-25 finishes in the 84-man tournament field. After finishing in the top-four of every one of its fall tournaments, the tied for fourth-place finish at Old Waverly marks Tennessee's highest team finish of the spring.
For the third time in four fall tournaments, Spencer Cross was Tennessee's highest finisher—tying for 10th place after shooting 3-under for the weekend. It marks Cross' highest individual finish of the season and the sixth top-10 finish of his career overall.
Cross has now finished in the top 15 in three of Tennessee's four spring tournaments after placing no higher than 24th in the fall.
Coming in tied for 14th place, Hunter Wolcott recorded his team-leading fourth top-15 finish of the season. Just one stroke behind Cross, Wolcott shot 2-under and carded all three of his rounds for the weekend par or better.
