No. 3 Vols Roll Past Vandy, 7-0

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – A dominant display in doubles, three straight-set victories in singles and three hard-fought three set singles triumphs led the No. 3 Tennessee men's tennis team to a dominant, 7-0, victory over Vanderbilt on Friday at Barksdale Stadium.
The victory kept the Vols (18-2, 7-1 SEC) a perfect 10-0 at home in dual play, while Vanderbilt (5-10, 0-7 SEC) remained winless in conference action
In doubles the Vols stormed out of the gates, grabbing a quick pair of 6-3 victories on courts one and two.
On court one the third ranked pair of senior Adam Walton and junior Pat Harper cruised by Vanderbilt's tandem of George Harwell and Max Freeman.
On No. 2 the No. 67 team of junior Martim Prata and freshman Johannus Monday dominated Marcus Ferreira and Adam Sraberg to clinch the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead for UT.
In singles, graduate student Luca Wiedenmann did what he does best, dominating Macsen Sisam, 6-2, 6-1 on court four to double the Tennessee advantage.
At No. 5, fellow graduate student Giles Hussey rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Max Freeman, earning his first win as a ranked player, while putting Tennessee on the brink of match point.
Prata clinched match point on court three with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Jeremie Casabon to put the Orange & White up, 4-0.
Senior Mark Wallner, Monday and Walton battled through three-set matches to finish off the sweep and send the Vols into Sunday's contest with a 7-1 mark in SEC play.

Luca Wiedenmann's straight-set dub on court four was the 109th singles win of his Tennessee career, placing him in sole possession of eighth on UT's all-time singles wins list.
