Women's Golf Central: The Ally at Old Waverly
October 18, 2020 | Women's Golf
STARKVILLE, Miss. – After an up-and-down performance at The Blessings Collegiate, the Tennessee women's golf team returns to action this week at The Ally at Old Waverly hosted by Mississippi State down in Starkville, Mississippi.
The tournament will—like The Blessings—feature all 14 SEC women's golf programs with the lone difference being the addition of Conference USA member, Southern Miss.
The other main difference, will be the shift back to normal group play. Three schools will be paired together playing in five threesomes each day. Tee-times for the subsequent days will be made based on results from the previous days round.
This event marks the Orange & White's third trip to Starkvegas in the last four years.
Lady Vol's Lineup
Nicole Whiston
Whiston was the low Lady Vol two weeks ago at The Blessings Collegiate, finishing in a tie for 28th with a three-day score of 12-over (228). She recovered well after a difficult first day that saw her put up her first career score in the 80s to finish inside the top-30.
Vanessa Gilly
Gilly was the lone player for UT to post three scores in the 70s the last time out. In her collegiate debut, the freshman finished in a tie for 31st, just one stroke behind Whiston at 13-over for a three-day total of 229.
Mikayla Bardwell
After firing home the low score of the day for UT during the first round in Fayetteville (+1, 73), Bardwell struggled for the remainder of the tournament, finishing in a tie for 43rd with a 54-hole score of 234 (+18).
