KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 22 Tennessee (2-0) women's tennis team will open the three-day Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich on Friday.

"The girls are excited to play and continue preparations for next week's ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Kansas," head coach Alison Ojeda said. "I think anytime you have the opportunity to play strong competition on the road, it provides good insight on where the team is at and how we can continue to improve. It should be a productive weekend and we are ready to go."

No. 14 Michigan will play host for the tournament at their Varsity Tennis Center, with No. 25 Ohio State and TCU competing as well.Â

Format of Play
Each team will play three rounds of doubles and three rounds of singles. There will be up to eight flights in singles and four flights in doubles per round. Each team will play one round of singles and one round of doubles per day. The third set will be played to completion in singles. Points will be allotted for each win based on the following decreasing point value to determine the champion (singles and doubles) at the end of the weekend:

Win at No. 2 position -- 7 points
Win at No. 3 position -- 6 points
Win at No. 4 position -- 5 points
Win at No. 5 position -- 4 points
Win at No. 6 position -- 3 points
Win at No. 7 position -- 2 points

This weekend's tournament will feature doubles matches to six, with a tiebreaker occurring at 6-all. Singles matches will be best two-of-three, with players playing a full third set.

Individually, freshman Hadley Doyle excelled in her collegiate debut. The Colleyville, Texas product won both of her singles matches in straight sets.Â
