KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The 20th-ranked Tennessee Vols continue non-conference action Sunday afternoon, hosting the Cincinnati Bearcats at Regal Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Â
Admission and parking for all regular season matches at Regal Soccer Stadium are both free of charge. Gates will open at noon Sunday, and fans should be reminded that UT's clear bag policy will be in effect.
Â
Sunday's match will be streamed live on SEC Network+, available online and through the ESPN app. Live stats will also be provided via SIDEARM Stats.
Â
PROMOTIONS: Gameday promotions for Sunday include National Grandparents Day (bring your grandparent and the first 100 fans will go home with a seat cushion), Early Bird Special (1/2 off drinks for first 30 minutes of pregame), Sunday Fundae (first 100 kids receive ice cream voucher and access to toppings bar) and a pregame Kids' Corner.
Â
LAST TIME OUT: Tennessee (4-1) secured a 2-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana Thursday night at Regal Stadium. Mackenzie George and Michelle Alozie accounted for goals in the win, while UT's defensive unit allowed a program record zero shot attempts for the second consecutive home match. Prior to this season, Tennessee had never accomplished that feat.
Â
POSSESSION BATTLE: The Vols have out-possessed each of their five opponents so far this season, continuing that trend with a season-best 61-39 edge against Southeastern Louisiana.
Â
HOME COOKIN': With Tennessee's 2-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday, the Vols are currently riding an eight-game home winning streak dating to Oct. 18, 2018 - spanning 325 days. UT's eight-game home winning streak is the longest for the Vols since 2007. Tennessee went 9-0-0 at Regal Stadium that year, marking the only perfect home campaign in program history.
Â
ROLLING IN THE DEPTH: Through five matches in 2019, Tennessee has seen eight different players score at least one goal. That mark ranks third in the SEC behind Arkansas (10) and South Carolina (10).
Â
SCOUTING CINCINNATI: The Bearcats (1-4) were selected sixth in the American Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll. Under seventh-year head coach Neil Stafford, the Bearcats bring a four-match losing streak to Knoxville - most recently suffering back-to-back shutout losses at home to Western Michigan and Northwestern.
Â
Sophomore forward Vanessa DiNardo leads Cincinnati with two goals after scoring a brace in the season opener against St. John's (NY). The Strongsville, Ohio native was also selected Preseason All-AAC.
Â
SERIES HISTORY: Tennessee won the lone meeting between the Lady Vols and Bearcats in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 17, 2002. Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Keeley Dowling equalized the match before Kayla Lockaby found the game-winner to advance UT to its first Round of 16 in program history.
Â
TIES TO CINCY: The Vols have two Cincinnati natives on the roster in senior forward MA Vignola and freshman forward Colleen McIlvenna. Additionally, Tennessee has three more freshman from the state of Ohio: Maria Nelson (Medina), Bridie Herman (Springboro) and Alicia Donley (Pickerington).
Â
UP NEXT: Tennessee will take a week off between matches before traveling to Amherst, Mass. to face the University of Massachusetts. The match is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.
