September 12, 2019 | Men's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Four members of the Tennessee men's tennis team will begin action on Friday at the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall hosted by the University of Alabama. Jordan Chrysostom, Mason Meier, Martim Prata and Finn Stodder will compete from Friday to Sunday, Sept. 13-15.
Chrysostom, Meier and Stodder will play their first matches this fall while Prata joins the group fresh off making the main draw at the M15 Champaign Futures tournament last weekend.
The event features two 16-player singles draws and two 8-team doubles brackets. Other schools competing at the tournament include Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Tulane and UAB.
Prata will represent UT in the Crimson singles draw, opening against Riccardo Roberto of Alabama. This will be Prata's second fall tournament as he is coming off the M15 Champaign Futures tournament.
Stodder will make his Tennessee debut on Friday in the Crimson singles draw as he opens the tournament against Dane Esses from Tulane. The freshman lefty is the younger brother of three-time All-American Timo Stodder and has looked very solid in practice in the lead up to this weekend.
Meier begins his Vols career after transferring to Tennessee last November and sitting out the spring as a redshirt. The Omaha, Neb., native will face off against Mark Mandlik in the Houndstooth singles draw. Mandlik is entering his freshman season at Oklahoma.
Chrysostom came to Tennessee as a five-star recruit from Maryland and begins his Big Orange career against Tulane's Henry Lovett. He will compete in the Houndstooth singles draw.
In the Crimson doubles draw, Chrysostom will partner with Prata while in the Houndstooth doubles draw, Meier and Stodder will pair together.
