KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee men's tennis team completes its weekend with another top-30 matchup as the Vols face No. 28 Texas A&M on Saturday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
Tennessee (10-2, 1-1 SEC) earned a hard-fought victory on Thursday night against No. 24 LSU, taking down the Tigers, 4-3, on the road. The 25th-ranked Vols will look to keep the momentum rolling and hand the Aggies their first conference loss of the season in Saturday's matchup. First serve is slated for 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT from College Station, Texas.

LAST TIME OUT: The Orange and White knocked off No. 24 LSU, 4-3, to earn their first SEC victory of the season. Tennessee dropped the doubles point but rallied with wins on courts one, two, three and six to claim the victory. Tennessee is 4-1 this season when it loses the doubles point.
FINDING HIS GROOVE: Senior Timo Stodder has stepped up for the Vols in his last two matches, claiming wins over a then 5th-ranked Jan Zielinski from Georgia last week and Thursday's win over No. 112 Shane Monroe of LSU. The latter, securing Tennessee's victory over LSU.
"I am really proud of Timo's turnaround," head coach Chris Woodruff said. "From where he was three weeks ago up until now, is a testament to his hard work and mental fortitude."
Stodder is currently ranked No. 59 nationally in singles and is No. 36 in doubles along with partner Preston Touliatos.
KEEPING THE STREAK: Sophomore Adam Walton, No. 93 in the nation in singles, kept his winning streak alive on Thursday as he defeated LSU's Rafael Wagner 6-0, 6-2. The Home Hill, Australia native has now won nine consecutive matches, dating back to January 19.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES: Texas A&M (9-3, 3-0) had a similarly dramatic win on Thursday night over No. 34 Georgia as it dropped the doubles point and had the deciding point come down to its last match in singles to propel the Aggies to a, 4-3, victory.
Texas A&M brings four players ranked in the ITA singles top-125 into Saturday's showdown with Valentin Vacherot ranked 38th nationally, Barnaby Smith is No. 58, Hady Habib ranks 120th and Austin Abbrat checks in at No. 121.
The Aggies are currently on a six-match win streak and are 3-0 in league play.
SERIES HISTORY: A series that dates back to 1974, Texas A&M leads all-time 11-5. The teams met twice last season with the first meeting coming in Knoxville as the Vols fell, 5-2. Tennessee and Texas A&M met again in the semifinal of the SEC Tournament where the Aggies took down UT, 4-0.
UP NEXT: Tennessee will return to Knoxville for a three match homestand beginning on Wednesday, March 13 against TCU. The Vols will then host SEC rivals South Carolina on March 15 and Florida on March 17.
