OAK RIDGE, Tenn. -- Tennessee hosted SEC foe Alabama on Sunday at Melton Lake Park in the first head-to-head matchup in program history.

The Vols finished second in the 1V8, 2V8, 1V4 and 3V8 races. In the 2V4 event, Alabama entered two boats and the Big Orange grabbed a second-place finish, besting the 2V4b boat by 6.5 seconds.

The first-ever SEC dual meet featured free donuts and coffee for spectators. Fans were encouraged to bring their families and dogs for a morning of fun with Smokey and Kids' Corner activities.

"We were so pleased to see the atmosphere at the course today with fans, sunshine and solid racing," head coach Lisa Glenn said. "Thanks to Alabama for making the trip up for this SEC matchup. We're looking to see concrete improvement as we move forward with preparations for San Diego in two weeks."

Up Next: UT continues its season on April 6-7 in San Diego at the San Diego Crew Classic.
