#15/26 Men's Tennis Wins 4-1 Over No. 29 NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 15/26-ranked Tennessee men's tennis team notched their first true road victory of the season on Friday against 29th-ranked NC State, winning 4-1, at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.

"Today was an all-around team effort," Tennessee head coach Chris Woodruff said. "The players, coaches and everyone involved gave their all. We need to continue to keep focusing on progress and getting better one day at a time."

The Vols (7-1) started off the match by taking the doubles point over the Wolfpack (7-3). Redshirt senior Preston Touliatos and freshman Pat Harper teamed up in the No. 2 spot and won 6-4, while Andrew Rogers and Martim Prata had a 6-3 victory in the No. 3 spot. Senior Timo Stodder and sophomore Adam Walton had an unfinished match in the first spot.

Touliatos won the first singles match of the day, defeating Robert Turzak 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 4 spot. In No. 3 singles, Scott Jones won 6-3, 7-5 over Tadas Babelis, giving the Vols a 3-1 advantage.

Walton, ranked No. 94 in singles, clinched the match for Tennessee with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 win in the No. 2 position.

The lone loss on the day was No. 113 Stodder versus No. 43 Alexis Galarneau. Stodder fell 6-3, 6-3 to the ranked opponent.

SERIES HISTORY: The Vols are now 4-1 against NC State all-time, with the series dating back to 1981.

UP NEXT: The Vols continue their road trip and take on Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Sunday. The first serve is set for 11 a.m.
