Tennessee Softball Position Preview: Outfielders

With just one week until opening day of the 2019 Tennessee softball season, UTSports.com concludes its position preview with a look at the Lady Vols' outfielders.
Tennessee returns six outfielders from last season.
Holcomb set a career-high hit streak with a span of 21 games from Feb. 10 to March 14 last season. She ranked third overall on the team with a batting average of .386 in 158 at bats. The California native tallied 37 runs and 61 hits. She started in 53 of her 60 games played and stole six bases throughout the season. Holcomb was tabbed NFCA All-Region Second Team and was named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.
#13 Amanda Ayala (So. | OF | Bloomfield, N.J.)
Ayala enters the 2019 season after being named to the SEC All-Freshman Team last year. She started in 44 games and appeared in 54. She collected a .289 average with 128 at bats, 18 runs and 37 hits. The New Jersey native totaled 21 RBIs on the year and had two home runs. She was also named an Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete and to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
#11 Haley Bearden (Sr. | OF | Clarksville, Tenn.)
Bearden collected seven hits and a career-high eight runs scored while hitting her first-career home run as a Lady Vol. The Clarksville, Tenn. native also notched six RBIs through 47 games (27 starts).
#24 Cailin Hannon (Jr. | OF | Franklin, Tenn.)
During her sophomore season, Hannon averaged a career-high .250 at the plate. She had 10 hits, six runs scored and one RBI. In 2017, the Tennessee native totaled four RBI on three hits and scored two runs.
#5 Tianna Batts (Jr. | OF | Taylorsville, N.C.)
In 2018, Batts started four of 36 games, tallying a career-high seven hits and six runs scored. As a freshman in 2017, the North Carolina native scored 10 runs and drove in an RBI on six hits through 32 games played.
#33 Treasuary Poindexter (Jr. | OF | Covington, Tenn.)
Known for her speed, Poindexter played in 34 games primarily as a pinch runner for the Lady Vols. The Tennessee native scored 14 runs, doubling her 2017 total, and stole six bases.
