Tennessee Sends 20 to European and U.S. Open Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee swimming and diving will be well represented on the national and international stage this week as 20 current and former Vols will compete at the European and U.S. Open Championships.
Current Lady Vol Tjasa Pintar, two VFLs in Kira Toussaint and PJ Stevens and incoming Lady Vol Mona McSharry are scheduled to compete in 14 total events at the European Short Course Swimming Championships.
The European Championships will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, running Dec. 4-8. For more information including, results links and live streams click here.
The bulk of Tennessee's representatives this week will be competing at the U.S. Open Championships down in Atlanta, Ga., at the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center. The championships run Dec. 4-7.
On the women's side, current Lady Vols Erika Brown, Tess Cieplucha, Madison Graham and Hannah Holman will compete while for the men Taylor Abbott, Alec Connolly, Matthew Garcia, Marc Hinawi and Michael Houlie will represent the Big Orange.
Tennessee will also be represented in Atlanta by a strong field of VFLs including, 2016 Olympian Molly Hannis, Madeline Banic, Ryan Coetzee, Kyle DeCoursey, Matthew Dunphy, Joey Reilman and Sam Rice.
USASwimming.org will have a live stream of prelims and finals each day with Day Three and Four A Finals being shown on NBCSports.com. NBC Sports Network will televise Day Three's A Finals.
