Three Vols Advance to Finals in Milwaukee, Columbia

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Preston Touliatos/Luca Wiedenmann (doubles) and Adam Walton (singles) each reached the final round of their respective brackets as the Tennessee men's tennis program competed at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and the Gamecock Fall Invitational Saturday.
MILWAUKEE TENNIS CLASSIC – MILWAUKEE, WIS.
Tennessee's doubles pairing of Preston Touliatos (Birmingham, Ala.) and Luca Wiedenmann (Munich, Germany) earned a trio of victories to advance to the Milwaukee Tennis Classic finals Saturday evening at The Town Club.
Touliatos/Wiedenmann began the day with a 6-0 blanking over DePaul's duo of Spanjaard/Casati. The Vol pair followed with a tiebreaker win over Gajardo/Tullis (BYU), 7-6(3) before topping Notre Dame's Gamble/Howells 8-4 in the semifinals.
Wiedenmann's success carried over into singles play with a three-set quarterfinal victory over Will Davies (Iowa), 7-5, 3-6, 6-1. The Tennessee junior will face Virginia Tech's Henrik Korsgaard in a semifinal match on Sunday.
GAMECOCK FALL INVITATIONAL – COLUMBIA, S.C.
Top-seeded Adam Walton advanced to the Flight A singles final for the Volunteers with a pair of victories at the Gamecock Fall Invitational. The sophomore from Home Hill, Australia has yet to drop a set in Columbia this weekend.
Walton dispatched North Carolina's Mac Kiger, 6-1, 6-4 before defeating Georgia State's Roberts Grinvalds, 6-3, 6-4. He will face Josh Peck (UNC) in the Flight A final on Sunday afternoon.
Scott Jones (Perth, Australia) split a pair of singles matches Saturday, taking care of Giles Hussey (Georgia State) in come-from-behind fashion, 2-6, 6-1, 6-2. Jones suffered his first singles loss of the season to Peck by a score of 6-4, 6-3.
