Tennessee closes out the non-conference slate in Dayton, Ohio

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee volleyball team enters the Dayton Flyer Invitational with a record of 7-2 after splitting the weekend with No. 16 San Diego.
The Lady Vols travel to Dayton, Ohio to take on the host Flyers, Ohio State and Evansville this weekend in the Frericks Center.

Friday night's match against Dayton can be seen on ESPN+ at 7:00 p.m. (ET) while Tennessee closes out the tournament against Ohio State at 10:30 a.m. (ET) and Evansville 4:30 p.m. (ET) on Saturday. Both of those games are not available to stream.

RACKHAM UP
Head coach Eve Rackham's 6-0 start to her coaching career was the third fastest for a coach in Tennessee volleyball history. The start of the season included an season-opening win over No. 22 Michigan State. The only faster starts came from Kate Hart in 1973 (20-0) and Bob Bertucci in 1979 (8-0).

Match 1: Tennessee at No. 16 San Diego (Sept. 7)
Result: L (3-0)

Tennessee dropped just its second match of the season in three sets to the No. 16 Toreros. Freshman outside hitter Raquel Perinar made her collegiate debut totaling four kills and four blocks while playing in all three sets.
- Senior Erica Treiber finished with a season-best hitting percentage of .571 while posting a team-high nine kills and three blocks.

Match 2: Tennessee at No. 16 San Diego (Sept. 8)
Result: W (3-1)

The Lady Vols claimed their second ranked win of the season over the Toreros. After dropping the opening set, they rattled off three straight set victories to win the match. It was the 900th victory in program history.
- In her second collegiate match, freshman outside hitter Raquel Perinar had a breakout performance tallying 15 kills with a .387 hitting percentage.

STANDOUT STAT
With three victories this weekend, it would be the fastest Tennessee gets to 10 wins since the 2014 season when the Lady Vols rattled off the first 14 victories of the season.

TREIBER
The senior middle blocker is 24 blocks away from entering the top five in program history in blocks. Treiber would tie two-time All-American Kristen Andre with 436 blocks in her career.

HANSEN
The Wrightwood, Calif. native is just 16 assists away from tying Kelsey Mahoney for ninth all-time in career assists with 1,857 in her Lady Vol career.

NEXT UP
Tennessee is set to begin SEC play on Sept. 21 when it travels to Auburn, Ala. to take on the Tigers. Auburn enters this weekend with a record of 6-3. The Lady Vols hold a record of 30-20-1 all-time against the Tigers.
