Tennessee Cruises Past Cleveland State, 12-0

HONOLULU – The No. 4 ranked Tennessee Lady Vols opened the 2018 Bank of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine Classic with a 12-0 win over Cleveland State on Wednesday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Tennessee (25-1) scored three runs in the bottom of the first. Meghan Gregg singled through the right side to score Aubrey Leach and Jenna Holcomb came around to score on the throwing error by the right-fielder. The Lady Vols would add another run when Scarlet McSwain singled to left field to score Gregg.

UT plated five runs in the bottom of the second. Gregg knocked a three-run home run over the wall in right center. Two batters later, Amanda Ayala hit a two-run home run that scored Chelsea Seggern.

Tennessee added four more runs in the bottom of the third. Sheridan Allen singled to the short stop to score CJ McClain. Seggern picked up her 38th RBI of the season when she doubled to left center to score two more runs for the Lady Vols. Katie Weimer came in off the bench and hit a triple down the right field line to score Seggern to push UT's lead to 12-0.

Caylan Arnold (12-0) picked up her 12th win of the season going three innings with three strikeouts. Gabby Sprang tossed two scoreless innings in relief.
