Tennessee squares off with the Wildcats in a match-up of two of the conference's top four teams
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee volleyball begins a three-game road stretch against No. 18 Kentucky on Wednesday.

Tennessee (14-4, 5-1) is one of two teams to take a set of the nationally-ranked Wildcats in the last month. Earlier this season, the Lady Vols held the Wildcats (10-4, 4-0) to their lowest hitting percentage of the season at .185 as they fell to Kentucky in four sets.

Since the loss to Kentucky, Tennessee has won four consecutive SEC matches and currently sits tied for third in the conference standings. The Wildcats enter the match as one of two remaining unbeatens in the SEC after sweeping Mississippi State in their lone match last week.

Freshman Lily Felts was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon. Felts has been a key piece to the Lady Vol team this season averaging 2.83 kills/set and 2.43 digs/set.

The Knoxville Tenn. native has recorded four consecutive double-digit kill matches in SEC play including a match-high 16 kills in the win over Alabama and match-high 11 kills in the sweep over Mississippi State this week.

Junior Tessa Grubbs, 15 kills, and freshman Raquel Perinar, 11 kills, tallied double-digit kills both finishing with a hitting percentage above .300 on the pins. This was the 12th game this season Grubbs has totaled 10+ kills in a match.

Tennessee held Kentucky to a season-low hitting percentage of .185 in the first match of the season. This is just the fourth time in 47 matches under an opponent has held the Wildcats under a .200 hitting percentage. Kentucky enters Wednesday with a .292 hitting percentage which ranks ninth in the nation.

Senior middle blocker Erica Treiber is the only Power-5 player to rank in the top nine in their conference in hitting percentage (.409/2nd), blocks/set (1.12/4th) and aces/set (0.30/9th). She is the only player in the SEC to hit .400 or better in conference play, leading the SEC at a .411 clip through six matches.
